FET PHASE – IT & CAT EDUCATOR | 2027

International Maarif School is seeking a passionate, innovative and suitably qualified FET educator to join our growing High School team in 2027.

The successful candidate will initially teach:

· Grade 10 Information Technology (IT) and Computer Applications Technology (CAT)

· as well as Grade 7–9 Coding and Robotics.

· The ability to teach Grade 10 Maths Literacy and Intermediate Phase Mathematics will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, effective lessons aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
• Teach Information Technology, CAT and Coding and Robotics across the relevant grades.
• Develop appropriate teaching and learning resources.
• Integrate technology and digital learning tools effectively into the classroom.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback and academic support.
• Maintain effective classroom management and foster a positive learning environment.
• Keep abreast of developments in technology, digital education and educational trends.
• Participate in curriculum planning and development.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents and the school management team.
• Participate actively in the broader life of the school, including extracurricular activities, clubs and sports.

Qualifications & Requirements

• B.Ed. degree or relevant Bachelor’s degree plus PGCE.
• Appropriate FET Phase teaching qualification/certification.
• SACE registration/certificate.
• Strong technological fluency and confidence in using digital tools.
• Knowledge and experience in teaching Coding and Robotics.
• Previous experience teaching IT and CAT.
• Sound knowledge of the relevant FET IT and CAT curricula.
• A willingness to keep up to date with emerging technologies and current educational trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Ability to develop engaging and effective lesson plans.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic school team.
• A willingness to contribute positively to the ethos and extracurricular life of the school.
