Job description

Fibre optic cable installation, routing and dressing
End-to-end fibre termination on field panels, fibre termination boxes, distribution boxes and enclosures
Fibre preparation, cleaving and fusion splicing
Installation of fibre pigtails, adapters and patching systems
OTDR testing and interpretation of test results
VFL and optical power testing
Fibre fault finding and troubleshooting
Fibre identification, labelling and cable management
Installation and maintenance of fibre optic infrastructure
Working with single-mode and multimode fibre
Fibre link testing and commissioning
Basic troubleshooting of fibre network connectivity
Working with industrial Ethernet and communication infrastructure
Completion of test records and technical documentation
Working on elevated platforms and at heights where required

Education:

High School (matric) (Preferred)

Experience:

Optical Fibre and Network installations: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

certified Fibre Optical Technican (Required)
