Field Service Auto Electrician - Earth Moving Equipment

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reporting structure: This Position reports to the Field Service Manager of the Manitou Centre

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:

o Identify electrical problems in vehicles with diagnostic tools and testing equipment. Analyse electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to locate faults.

· Repair and Maintenance:

o Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical systems, components, and wiring. This may include replacing damaged wires, connectors, switches, and electrical accessories.

· Installation:

o Install new electrical components and systems in vehicles, such as audio systems, alarms, GPS navigation, lighting systems, and aftermarket accessories.

· Battery Services:

o Inspect, test, and replace batteries as needed. Ensure proper battery connections and charging systems.

· Alternator and Starter Repairs:

o Repair or replace alternators and starters, which are critical components for vehicle power generation and engine starting.

· Electronic Systems:

o Work on electronic systems like engine control units (ECUs), airbag systems, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), and other advanced vehicle control systems.

· Lighting Systems:

o Repair and replace headlights, taillights, turn signals, and other lighting components to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

· Safety Checks:

o Conduct safety checks and inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.

· Wiring and Harness Work:

o Repair or replace damaged wiring harnesses, connectors, and junction boxes to maintain proper electrical connections.

· Documentation:

o Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and diagnostic findings. Provide customers with clear explanations of the work performed.

· Customer Interaction:

o Communicate with customers to understand their electrical issues, provide estimates, and explain the necessary repairs or modifications.

EDUCATION:

Minimum qualification:

· Matric (Gr 12)

· Red Seal Qualified

· Proven Industry Track Record.

· Must be medically fit

EXPERIENCE:

• 4 years plus experience and proven track record in Sales and Customer relationship environment

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:

Ability to Demonstrate strong Customer interactions, both internal and External

LOCATION & EXPECTED TRAVEL:

· This position is based at Manitou Centre Johannesburg, Chloorkop.

· Could also fulfill workshop role as required.

· Candidate must reside in Gauteng
