Field Service Engineer (BESS)

Main Responsibilities:

• Offer technical support during mechanical and electrical tasks throughout the commissioning phase of Energy Storage Projects.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between Trina Storage and clients on-site, including liaising with subcontractors when necessary.
• Collaborate with various professionals to implement a detailed commissioning schedule, working closely with overseas colleagues from Trina Storage.
• Generate daily and weekly reports, monitoring and addressing any deviations from the planned schedule.
• Engage in follow-up meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal Trina Storage teams, coordinating with professionals from diverse disciplines.
• Oversee the installation of Energy Storage structures to ensure compliance with standards set by Trina Storage.
• Participate in preventive and reactive maintenance activities for Energy Storage infrastructure.
• Handle commissioning, pre and post-commissioning tests, and performance test verification.
• Manage spare parts inventory, including maintaining records, documenting transactions, and updating inventory. Notify the service manager in advance about spare part needs and estimated quantities based on failure rates.
• Ensure the safekeeping of tools.
• Oversee and assign tasks to third-party service partner technicians, ensuring all work is documented and reported to higher management.
• Provide customer support through various channels such as phone and email, frequently interacting with customers both on-site and remotely.

Requirements:

• Electrical or Electronics Engineer (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of technical experience in electrical projects (substations, power lines, or LV/MV cables). Experience with Energy Storage infrastructure (BESS) is advantageous.
• Possess 2-3 years of experience as an Energy Storage Service Engineer with hands-on site experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Fluency in African is required; knowledge of Chinese is a plus but not essential to liaise with Chinese counterparties.
• Strong understanding of BESS PCS and all related supporting and subcomponents.
• Solid experience in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
