Field Service Technician

Purpose of the Position:

· Carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs, maintenance, and servicing on customer’s fleet of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), telehandlers, material handling, and earth moving equipment at customer sites and in the Repair Centre Rustenburg workshop. Ensure maximum equipment uptime through quality first-time repairs, efficient on-site diagnostics, and compliance with OEM service standards and OHS Act safety requirements. The efficient and quality rebuild, refurbishment and repair of customer equipment in the Repair Centre Rustenburg workshop, within budget and compliant with OEM standards and OHS Act safety requirements.

Qualifications:

· Grade 12/N3

· Recommended: Trade qualification (Millwright/ Diesel Mechanic or Auto Electrician).

· Preferred: Telehandler / Earth Moving Equipment certification**.**

Experience:

• Required: 3+ years’ experience as a technician in a workshop or field service environment
• Preferred: Experience on telehandler and earth moving equipment
• Preferred: Mining, construction, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing plant environment experience

Technical Skills & Tools:

• Required: Mechanical repair skills: hydraulics, pneumatics, engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components**.**
• Required: Electrical diagnostics: multimeter use, circuit tracing, solenoid and relay testing, wiring repair**.**
• Preferred: Telehandler and earth moving equipment knowledge (Manitou, JLG, JCB, Bobcat, CAT, Merlo, Deici).
• Preferred: OEM diagnostic tools and service software for material handling or earth moving equipment**.**
• Required: OHS Act safety requirements for field service work.
• Required: Valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
