Job description
The Role PURPOSE
Role exists to take full responsibility for the financial outputs of the Road Division. This is achieved through alignment to Road Division Strategy, effective management of financial department through personalised KPI’s, accurate / meaningful reporting, adherence to Corporate Governance and effective communication with all stakeholders. This role works closely with all divisions with the Road Division, creating a real and active partnership with both operations and management. Their role is to provide 'real time' support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision making.
JOB OUTPUTS
- Participate as a member of the Finance Leadership team and contribute to the development of group financial strategy, methodologies, technologies, practices, policies and processes.
- Provide financial support and guidance to the business, by developing processes, tools, reports and criteria, to ensure all activities and investments have a positive ROI and they are expensed according with approved Budget and under proper internal control environment.
- Ensure that the financial divisional structure for the division is developed, resourced, and optimised to execute against the strategy and divisional requirements.
- Optimise, execute, monitor & control business operations through (but not limited to) implementing all agreed SOPs, governance practices for financial controls and levels of authority, and achieving specific financial KPIs i.e. adherence to processes detailed in SOP’s, cost control in line with agreed capex / budget / volumes, cash flow management, adherence to LOA, favourable results against SMART GOALS
- Continuous improvement in outputs through adherence to SOP’s, governance protocols and regular reviews of processes, including use of technology / automation
- Compile an operational or business area budget/or forecast aligned with the delivery plans, and ensure the implementation and monitoring of financial controls, management of costs and corporate governance to optimise cost savings and/or profit margins.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of effective pricing strategies through providing key financial information and insights to client profitability, cost to serve and profitability metrics.
- Continuously evaluate and evolve financial and commercial capabilities and management information system (MIS) to support effective control and decision making i.e. management & accuracy of Dashboards.
- Partner effectively with operational, sales and other team members to ensure correct Commercial and Financial outcomes are achieved on a daily, weekly and annual basis.
- Provide key insights to support the RTT business review process and take corrective actions to ensure the successful achievement of targets.
- Drive continuous improvement within area of accountability whilst ensuring compliance to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements such as IMS, Pharma etc
- Ensure active communications within finance teams and drive a high performing, service orientated and collaborative culture in division, between divisions, and support functions
- Develop a highly skilled and engaged workforce within the functional area through the effective selection, onboarding, development and management of talent.
- Develop reports, dashboards to assist management in decision management and KPI measurement.
Skills and Experience Minimum Requirements (Experience & Qualifications)
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance
- 3 years’ experience in a middle management role
- Previous experience in logistics industry preferred
Required Knowledge
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of the logistics industry
- Data management, Financial Statement understanding, Financial Modelling, Familiarity with quantitative methods is a plus.
- Strong, progressive and consistent track record from business partnering environment will have strong added advantage.
- Proficiency in Oracle preferred
