Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain practical experience in accounts payable, creditor control, and financial administration. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training and mentorship, with opportunities to take on increasing levels of responsibility as they develop within the role.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Basic understanding of accounting/finance principles
  • Microsoft proficiency, particularly Excel
  • Date capturing and record-keeping skills
  • Numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exposure to accounting systems will be advantageous
  • No experience required

Responsibilities:

Creditor Control and Financial Administration

  • Capture and process supplier invoices accurately and timeously.
  • Generate ad hoc purchase orders as required.
  • Perform creditor reconciliations against supplier statements.
  • Prepare payment packs and supporting documentation for review and approval.
  • Maintain control of office consumables, stationery, and other business resources.
  • Assist with general finance administration and record-keeping.

Growth and Development Responsibilities

As proficiency is demonstrated and training progresses, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Loading supplier payments onto the banking platform.
  • Proposing floorplan settlements and loading these for payment.
  • Capturing and allocating payments on the accounting system.
  • Providing additional support to the finance function as required.
