We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our Finance Team reporting to the Finance Executive: Compliance & Reporting. The purpose of the role is to provide leadership and specialist expertise across treasury, financial reporting, annual financial statement preparation, forecasting, and financial risk management activities. The role is responsible for delivering treasury governance, derivative accounting, accurate and compliant financial reporting, quarterly balance sheet and cash flow forecasting, interim and financial year-end reporting processes, annual financial statements. The incumbent partners with stakeholders across the business to support sound decision-making, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies and governance requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• CA(SA)
• 5+ years of relevant experience within a finance environment.
• Experience in financial reporting and annual financial statement preparation.
• Experience in interim and financial year-end reporting and close processes.
• Experience in quarterly balance sheet and cash flow forecasting.
• Experience engaging with auditors and supporting audit processes.
• Treasury, derivatives and financial risk management exposure would be advantageous.
• Experience within a large or complex corporate environment would be advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities Treasury and financial risk management

• Manage treasury reporting and liquidity monitoring activities.
• Maintain cash flow forecasting and liquidity projections.
• Oversee derivative reporting and related accounting requirements.
• Support banking, funding and treasury governance processes.
• Monitor treasury-related risks and recommend appropriate mitigation actions.
• Ensure compliance with treasury policies and relevant control frameworks.

Forecasting and planning

• Lead the quarterly forecasting process from a balance sheet and cash flow perspective.
• Analyse forecast movements and provide insight into key balance sheet, liquidity and cash flow drivers.
• Partner with business and finance stakeholders to improve forecast quality, accuracy and ownership.
• Provide clear commentary and variance analysis to management.
• Support budgeting, strategic planning and capital allocation activities as required.

Month-end, interim and financial year-end close

• Support the delivery of month-end, interim and financial year-end close processes.
• Coordinate assigned year-end close activities across reporting workstreams.
• Investigate and resolve reporting and accounting matters arising during close cycles.
• Perform ad hoc year-end close duties and cross-functional reporting requirements as allocated.
• Ensure agreed reporting deadlines and quality standards are achieved.

Financial reporting and statutory compliance

• Prepare and coordinate subsidiary annual financial statements (AFS) in accordance with IFRS and applicable statutory requirements.
• Support the preparation and review of interim financial reporting deliverables and related disclosures.
• Prepare and review financial statement disclosures, supporting schedules, reconciliations and working papers.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness and integrity of statutory and management reporting.
• Draft technical accounting papers and support accounting assessments where required.

Audit and governance

• Coordinate internal and external audit requests across assigned areas.
• Prepare accurate, complete audit support files and working papers.
• Liaise with auditors and key stakeholders to resolve reporting matters.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal policies and governance requirements.
• Identify and implement control improvements where appropriate.

Projects and continuous improvement

• Participate in finance transformation, system enhancement and process improvement initiatives.
• Support financial evaluations and business case development for projects.
• Drive automation and digitalisation opportunities within finance processes.
• Contribute to the development of effective reporting and forecasting tools.
• Undertake ad hoc finance projects and analysis as required.
