Job description
Qualification And Experience
- Post Graduate Financial Qualification.
- CA (SA) / CIMA / ACCA / SAIPA Professional Membership advantageous.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role required.
COMPUTER LITERACY
- Working knowledge in the use of financial software applications and databases.
- ERP system working knowledge, e.g. SAP or BAAN and Infor LN system knowledge advantageous.
- Microsoft Office Suite – Advanced in Excel.

- Key requirements include being commercially sound, deadline driven and having attention to detail.
- The ideal candidate should be hardworking, honest, self-motivated and disciplined and be able to work under pressure.
- It is essential that the candidate have a passion for implementing and maintaining a continuous workplace improvement program (20 Keys).
- Proactive, have good management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem solving and planning skills.
- Personal and professional integrity are key requirements.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be Responsible Accounts Payable
- Review monthly/weekly creditor reconciliations.
- Verify EFT payment packs.
- Release EFT payments.
General Ledger
- Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare journals.
Monthly Reporting
- Prepare information required for reporting.
- Review inter-company balances, confirmation and reconciliation thereof.
- Provide reports from ERP system.
- Capture information on relevant reporting platforms.
Internal Controls
- Perform internal control reviews, report deficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Co-ordinate Internal Control Matrix assessment and report monthly.
Cost Accounting
- Provide monthly cost information to Sales Department.
- Maintain item master data on the ERP system.
- Create, load and maintain BOM’s, calculate and update overhead rates.
- Update item codes per product specifications.
Inventory
- Attend inventory counts periodically.
- Perform stock take results reconciliation review.
- Prepare monthly Stock journals and reconciliation.
Fixed Assets
- Prepare monthly depreciation journal.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations between general ledger and fixed asset register.
- Update Capital WIP-file monthly.
- Create new capex dimensions on ERP system when required.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist with preparing information required for weekly profit forecasting.
- Assist with preparing information required for annual budgeting.
General
- Assist with internal and external audit file preparation and requests.
- Assist in implementation of new financial systems and or processes when required.
- Review, write, maintain and implement SOP's as and when required.
- Attend to ad-hoc requests.
Other Features Of The Job
- Management responsibilities and tasks can be re-assigned to ensure department effectiveness at the discretion of management.
- Due to the nature of the job, the candidate must be able to work overtime, weekends and public holidays when required.
