Job description
To support project and group operations across engineering, mining, and construction projects. This role focuses on accurate financial processing, reporting, job/project cost control, budgeting support, and compliance administration—ensuring financial information is timely, complete, and decision-useful for management and executives, variance analysis, reconciliations, and invoicing processes to enable informed management decisions and maintain healthy cash flow.
Financial Reporting (Project & Group)
· Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting schedules
· Compile management accounts, board packs, and executive dashboards
· Maintain accurate project profitability reporting (costs, billing, margins)
Project & Operational Finance Support
· Support project-level financial control, including:
-Cost tracking and coding
-Billing cycles and reconciliation support
-Margin analysis support
-Support cash flow forecasting and working capital reporting (e.g., updates to rolling cash forecasts
Budgeting, Forecasting & Costing
· Support budgeting and forecasting cycles across the group entities
· Assist with scenario modelling for project performance and commercial decisions
· Contribute to job costing processes using ERP outputs and management reporting tools
Systems, Compliance & Governance Support
· Maintain and support the ERP environment for job costing/ reporting (e.g. Sage Evolution or equivalent)
· Support compliance activities in line with:
-IFRS
-Companies Act
-SARS requirements (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax)
· Support internal control processes (e.g. DOA compliance, risk register inputs, reconciliations)
· Develop, implement and maintain group financial policies and procedures for project accounting, reporting, approvals, and documentation
Stakeholder & Audit Support
· Support coordination of annual audits and document requests
· Assist with schedules and reconciliations required for financial statements and tax compliance
· Support external stakeholders where required
Minimum Requirements
· BCom Accounting/Finance Degree (or equivalent)
· SAICA articles completed or CIMA part-qualified (or equivalent) or Postgraduate Diploma in Project Finance or Tax
· 3–5 years finance experience in construction/EPCM/mining services/industrial infrastructure (project-driven environment)
· Experience with project accounting / job costing, budgets, and management reporting
· Demonstrated experience in tax compliance with a proven track record of successfully engaging and liaising with SARS to resolve complex compliance and audit issues.
· Proven experience in managing external accounting service providers to ensure the accurate, timely, and complete fulfilment of all corporate tax and statutory compliance obligations.
· Exposure to ERP systems used for project costing (e.g. Sage Evolution/ Pastel or similar)
· Experience in producing accurate reconciliations and supporting audit/ tax schedules
Technical Skills
· Strong Excel skills (management reporting, modelling basics)
· Understanding of IFRS principles in a project/ infrastructure environment
· Basic-to-intermediate exposure to Power BI (preferred) for dashboards/ reporting

Pay: R500 000,00 - R768 158,97 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Secunda, Mpumalanga
