As our Financial Accountant, you will play an important role in ensuring the integrity of our financial information, strengthening internal controls and supporting sound commercial decision-making. What you will be part of
This is a role where accuracy meets impact. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will help ensure our financial processes are efficient, compliant and built for sustainable growth.
Your work will include:
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolving reconciling items to maintain the integrity of our financial records.
- Preparing accounts up to trial balance level and producing monthly income statements that support informed business decisions.
- Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts that provide visibility and support effective financial planning.
- Managing month-end journals, month-end close activities and maintaining monthly journal and internal control files.
- Performing general ledger reconciliations and ensuring supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
- Reviewing and strengthening internal controls to support sound financial governance.
- Preparing VAT and other statutory returns in line with legislative requirements.
- Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate financial information and insights.
- Coordinating the accounts payable process to ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
- Planning work effectively, managing project milestones and consistently delivering within agreed deadlines.
- Supporting and developing others by monitoring performance, sharing knowledge and providing coaching where needed.
The experience you will bring
You enjoy working with detail without losing sight of the bigger picture. You value accuracy, take ownership of your work and understand that strong financial controls create stronger businesses.
Ideally, you will have:
- A Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting.
- Three to five years' accounting experience.
- Professional Accountant (SAIPA) registration or completed articles.
- Experience working on Syspro.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Standards.
