We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple entities, drive financial excellence, contribute to strategic decision-making, and play a key role in a dynamic and growing agribusiness environment.

What You'll Do

As Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, driving compliance, supporting financial planning, and contributing to business performance.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Compile annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful insights to management.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are accurate and completed on time.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the annual budgeting process.
  • Assist with forecasting and financial planning activities.
  • Analyse variances and identify opportunities for improvement.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare and submit VAT, provisional tax, and income tax returns.
  • Manage SARS queries and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant tax and financial legislation.

Audit & Risk Management

  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Respond to audit requests professionally and timeously.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, IFRS, and internal controls.

Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Support and optimise financial processes and systems.
  • Identify efficiency improvements and strengthen existing controls.
  • Contribute to finance and business improvement projects.

Team Collaboration

  • Support and guide junior finance team members.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Completed articles, SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, or similar professional affiliation will be advantageous.

Experience

  • 3-5 years' experience in a financial accounting environment.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and audits.
  • Experience working on ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Technical Knowledge

  • IFRS
  • South African tax legislation
  • Management accounting and reporting
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Treasury and cash flow management
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • ERP systems
