About the Role

We are looking for a commercially minded and highly analytical Financial Analyst to join our growing team based in Umhlanga, Durban.

This is a full-time, office-based position supporting an international business operating within the UK market.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play an important role in financial planning, forecasting, modelling and management reporting. You will work with senior leadership to analyse business performance, identify trends and provide the financial insight required to support strategic and commercial decision-making.

The role would suit someone with strong financial analysis, FP&A and financial modelling skills who is comfortable working with large amounts of financial data and presenting meaningful insights to senior stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning, Analysis & Modelling

• Build, maintain and improve financial models, forecasts and projections
• Support short-, medium- and long-term financial planning
• Perform scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis
• Analyse financial statements, management accounts and business performance
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities within financial and operational data
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic and commercial decision-making
• Develop models to evaluate business opportunities and investment decisions

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts
• Perform variance analysis and investigate significant differences
• Maintain financial targets, KPIs and performance metrics
• Work closely with the finance team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information
• Support ongoing forecasting and financial planning activities

Management Reporting & Business Intelligence

• Prepare clear and accurate financial reports and management information
• Analyse financial and operational data to provide actionable business insights
• Develop reports and dashboards to help senior management understand business performance
• Translate complex financial information into clear recommendations
• Support the CFO and senior leadership with ad-hoc financial and commercial analysis
• Assist with reporting and analysis required by private equity shareholders and other senior stakeholders

Systems, Data & Reporting

• Maintain and improve financial reporting templates and models
• Ensure consistency and accuracy across financial reports
• Work with finance and operational teams to improve reporting processes
• Identify opportunities to automate or streamline financial reporting
• Maintain structured and reliable financial data for analysis and reporting

Skills & ExperienceEssential

• Previous experience in a Financial Analyst, FP&A Analyst, Commercial Analyst or similar finance role
• Strong financial analysis and financial modelling skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong understanding of financial statements, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Strong numerical and analytical ability
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to analyse large amounts of data and identify meaningful trends
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance and senior stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with finance and operational teams

Desirable

• Experience working within an FP&A function
• Exposure to a private equity-backed organisation
• Experience within the healthcare or dental sector
• Experience working with UK or international businesses
• Experience creating management dashboards or business intelligence reports

Pay: From R38 000,00 per month
