SUMMARY: My client based in Stellenbosch Technopark, is an established fruit exporter and they are looking for a Financial Assistant to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have a financial qualification and no experience is required.

POSITION INFO: Job Purpose The Financial Assistant supports the finance team by ensuring the accurate invoice verification, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role contributes to maintaining strong supplier relationships through timely payments, accurate documentation, and adherence to financial controls. By supporting day-to-day financial administration and assisting with ad hoc finance functions, the role helps ensure smooth financial operations, particularly during peak season. Key Responsibility Areas Invoice Verification & Purchase Order Control Verify imported fruit and invoices against approved purchase orders. Ensure all invoices are correctly matched before processing. Follow up on missing or incorrect supporting documentation. Ensure all invoices receive the required approval before payment processing. Liaise with suppliers and internal departments regarding invoice queries Reconciliations & Financial Reporting Perform ad hoc reconciliations as assigned. Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies. Assist in compiling cost-related financial reports. Maintain supporting documentation for reconciliations and reporting. Provide information required for management reporting and audits Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure adherence to company financial controls and procedures. Maintain accurate supporting documentation for all financial transactions. Verify that required approvals are obtained before processing transactions. Support audit preparation by providing accurate records and documentation. Assist in maintaining finance department compliance standards. Finance Team Support Provide administrative and operational support to the finance team. Assist with peak-season finance activities and special projects. Respond to finance team requests within agreed timeframes. Support payment, reporting, and reconciliation processes as required. Assist with ad hoc finance tasks assigned by management
