Job description
Financial Controller required for a company based in Longmeadow with;
- Grade 12
- B. Com Degree Honours in Financial Management or CPA / CA(SA) or CIMA / ACCA
- Report into the Group Financial Manager
- Previous working experience in a Finance Environment
- Min 2 – 5 years in a Managerial Role
- Oversee day-today financial operations
- Ensure accurate financial reporting
- Robus internal controls
- Compliance with statutory and group reporting
- Direct operational and technical support to the Group Financial Manager
- Enabling effective financial governance
- Decision making
- Timely reporting across the group
- Financial reporting to close processes
- Prepare and review monthly management accounting line with group reporting timelines
- Ensure accuracy, completeness and integrity of general ledger balances
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations and variance analyses for review by the Group Financial Manager
- Assist with consolidation inputs and intercompany reconciliations at group level
- budgeting, forecasting and cost control
- Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Track actuals against budget and investigate variances
- Maintain and monitor cost controls and expenditure approvals
- Assist operational managers with financial insights to improve cost efficacy
- Internal controls and compliance
- Enforce financial policies, procedures and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards
- IFRS
- GAAAP
- Tax legislation
- Statutory requirements
- Prepare audit files and coordinate audit requirements
- Cash flow and working capital support
- Monitor cash flow forecasts and working capital movements
- Review debtors, creditors and inventory balances for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with treasury- related reporting and reconciliations
- Stakeholder and team support
- Act as a key finance contact with internal stakeholders and operational teams
- Provide guidance to finance team members on accounting treatments and reconciliation
- Support the Group Financial Manager with financial analysis, presentations and board reporting packs
- Liaise with auditors, banks, and external service providers as required
- Proficient in GAAP and IFRS
- Expertise in preparing consolidated financial statements including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
- Knowledge of methods and processes for consolidating financial statements from Multiple subsidiaries or business units
- Familiarity with corporate tax regulations and reporting requirements including deferred Tax calculations
- Audits
