Job description

DRINKPAK - Vacancy

Application are invited for: Financial controller

Site: Drinkpak - Ekandustria

Interested candidates must sent a CV to HR ([email protected]) by no later than 14 July 2026 @ 16:00.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Drinkpak is a established manufacturing company within the beverage packaging industry, specialising in packaging solutions for bottled water and soft drinks. We are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to take full ownership of the company's finance function by transitioning the outsourced accounting function in-house.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys working closely with the business and contributing beyond the numbers. While the primary focus will be on managing the company's financial affairs, there is significant long-term growth potential for an individual interested in developing into a broader business leadership role.

But this role is more than financial management. You will be the person who holds the team together when the COO is not on-site — not through authority, but through character. You lead from values, notice what others miss, and care about people as much as you care about numbers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance Function Ownership

· Assume full responsibility for the company's finance function

· Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports

· Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow

· Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions

· Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements

· Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and relevant stakeholders

· Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate financial records

· Develop and improve internal financial controls and reporting processes

ERP System — Implementation & Ownership

· Evaluate and lead the implementation of a new ERP system suited to the business — one capable of handling stock management, BOM tracking, and full financial integration

· Become the internal ERP champion — the go-to person for system integrity, adoption, and ongoing optimisation

· Train and support staff on the new ERP system across finance and operations modules

· Ensure ERP data is accurate, current, and driving real business decisions

· Continuously identify system improvements and optimise workflows over time

Costing, Pricing & Inventory

· Develop and standardise product pricing models to ensure consistency, accuracy, and profitability

· Maintain and oversee Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring product costing is accurate and aligned with production requirements

· Partner with operations to analyse inventory performance, improve stock control, and ensure accurate inventory valuation

· Monitor raw material costs and flag margin risks proactively

Operations Partnership

· Work closely with the Production Manager to align finance and operations planning

· Track the flow from sales order through production to delivery and invoice

· Ensure raw material procurement supports production schedules without overstock or shortfall

· Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions

· Assist the Managing Director with financial planning and business performance reporting

CULTURE & PEOPLE CONTRIBUTION

This component is as important as the financial responsibilities.

DrinkPak operates from a specific value system. This is not a policy statement — it is the foundation of how we treat each other, make decisions, and build together. The person in this role will carry and model these values, especially when the COO is not present.

· Lead by example — your character sets the tone, not your title

· Be the calm, steady presence the team can rely on day to day

· Notice when team members are struggling and respond with genuine care

· Quietly influence team morale, work ethic, and attitude through your presence

· Support the embedding of the new ERP and business systems across the team

· Help create a workplace where people feel valued, accountable, and proud of their work

We are not looking for someone who manages people through hierarchy. We are looking for someone whose character naturally draws respect.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Experience

· BCom Degree in Accounting or a related financial qualification

· Minimum of 3 years accounting or financial management experience

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

· Experience preparing management accounts and budgets

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

· Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function

Advantageous

· Experience within manufacturing, packaging, or FMCG environments

· Exposure to inventory and cost accounting

· ERP implementation experience (systems such as ERP, SAP Business One, Sage, or similar)

· An interest in developing into a broader commercial or operational leadership role over time

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

High integrity — you do what you say, every time

Detail-oriented — accuracy is a personal standard, not just a job requirement

Commercially minded with strong business acumen

Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take full ownership

Calm under pressure — you stabilise others, not escalate situations

Quietly influential — people follow your example, not your title

Long-term minded — you want to build something, not pass through

Strong communicator with genuine interpersonal skills

Values-aligned

You get bored easily and need constant new challenges

You see this as a stepping stone to somewhere else

You separate your faith from how you treat people at work

You need public recognition to feel motivated

You are uncomfortable in an owner-managed, fast-moving environment

You want a rigid corporate structure with clear career ladders

You prefer purely technical work with minimal human interaction

You chase titles more than you chase impact

NOTE: Not all candidates who apply can be interviewed.

Please note that should you not hear from Pakpal within 3 weeks from the closing date of the advertisement your application was unsuccessful.
