Financial Director

Job Purpose

Amrod is seeking an experienced a Financial Director to join its finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role oversees the Company’s financial operations and governance while enabling informed decision-making through commercial insight and financial analysis. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial management, leadership, and business intelligence to drive financial excellence and sustainable growth.

Key Performance Areas

• Manage financial operations, including cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to support long term growth.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Directors and Executives.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
• Oversee financial performance analysis and drive cost management initiatives.
• Identify financial risks and develop mitigating strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Manage performance of the team and promote employee engagement.

Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required

Candidate Requirements:

• Chartered Accountant with CA (SA) accreditation.
• SAICA membership.
• At least 5-7 years’ experience in Financial Director role.
• Strong understanding of local and international financial regulations.
• Experience in partnering with Executives and operational leaders to drive business outcomes.
• Experience in producing robust management accounts.
• Leadership and experience in managing big financial teams.

Technical Requirements:

• Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
• Financial reporting and management accounting.
• Cash flow, working capital, and treasury management.
• Financial risk management and governance.
• SQL and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• ERP and accounting systems.
• Business intelligence and financial data analytics tools.
