Job description
Job Purpose
Amrod is seeking an experienced a Financial Director to join its finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role oversees the Company’s financial operations and governance while enabling informed decision-making through commercial insight and financial analysis. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial management, leadership, and business intelligence to drive financial excellence and sustainable growth.
Key Performance Areas
- Manage financial operations, including cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support long term growth.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Directors and Executives.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
- Oversee financial performance analysis and drive cost management initiatives.
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigating strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Manage performance of the team and promote employee engagement.
Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required
Candidate Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant with CA (SA) accreditation.
- SAICA membership.
- At least 5-7 years’ experience in Financial Director role.
- Strong understanding of local and international financial regulations.
- Experience in partnering with Executives and operational leaders to drive business outcomes.
- Experience in producing robust management accounts.
- Leadership and experience in managing big financial teams.
Technical Requirements:
- Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Financial reporting and management accounting.
- Cash flow, working capital, and treasury management.
- Financial risk management and governance.
- SQL and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- ERP and accounting systems.
- Business intelligence and financial data analytics tools.
