Financial Executive

Hinterland is looking for an experienced and strategic Financial Executive to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the organisation's financial strategy and operations, ensuring sound financial management, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and sustainable business growth. The role requires a commercially minded leader who can drive financial performance, strengthen governance, and provide strategic guidance to support the organisation's long-term objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing financial strategies that support business growth and long-term organisational objectives.
• Leading the budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial planning processes across the Hinterland Group.
• Monitoring financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve profitability, and driving cost management initiatives.
• Ensuring compliance with financial legislation, accounting standards, and internal policies while maintaining effective financial controls.
• Overseeing financial reporting, statutory compliance, and external audit processes.
• Driving the automation and continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls.
• Providing strategic financial advice and commercial insights to support business decisions, supplier negotiations, sales strategies, and investment opportunities.
• Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team to promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

• CA(SA) qualification.
• At least 5 years' relevant management experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial management, business strategy, IFRS, statutory requirements, and financial markets.
• Knowledge of the retail and agricultural business environment will be advantageous.
