Financial Manager
We are a KZN-based radiology company looking for a skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Organisations full financial function, ensuring accurate reporting , compliance and effective financial governance, while providing strategic guidance to support executive decision-making and organisational objectives.
Description
Financial Accounting and Reporting
Oversee the full accounting function, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records.
Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and all financial processes.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Monitor cash flow and financial performance.
Provide insights and recommendations to Directors and Practice Manager based on financial analysis.
Implement effective controls across the finance function.
Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports with analysis
Financial Compliance and Audit Management
Compile and prepare all documentation required for internal and external audits.
Ensure accurate and timely generation of balance sheets and supporting schedules
Liaise proactively with auditors to address queries efficiently. Implement audit recommendations.
Strengthen and enhance internal control systems.
Directors Accounts and Drawings Management
Process and record directors’ drawings accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain up-to-date directors’ loan and drawings accounts.
Ensure all drawings are properly authorised and comply with company policies and statutory requirements
Reconcile directors’ accounts monthly and resolve any discrepancies.
Ensure correct tax treatment of directors’ drawings.
Prepare reports on directors’ drawings for management and audit purposes.
Payroll Management and Compliance
Process staff salaries accurately and in accordance with approved payroll schedules.
Verify payroll inputs, including timesheets, allowances, deductions, and benefits prior to processing.
Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date salary and payroll records
Ensure compliance with tax, labour, and statutory requirements.
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Prepare payroll reports for management, finance, and audit purposes.
Safeguard confidentiality of employee payroll information.
Liaise with HR and relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment of payroll data.
Finance Department Operations and Governance
Oversee day-to-day operational and administrative functions of the finance department.
Ensure effective implementation of financial policies, procedures, and strategic objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial productivity.
Ensure adherence to governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
Identify problem areas and implement corrective measures where necessary.
Management of finance team.
Compile a company asset register to be frequently updated on increase or decrease of assets
Maintain records on company assets issued to employees and account for lost/damaged assets
Submit weekly operations report
General Management Functions
Perform general management functions with the financial management scope.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12
- B. Com (Accounting / Finance) degree or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g., CTA, MBA in Finance) is advantageous.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in finance, preferably within healthcare, medical, or diagnostic practices.
- Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, reporting, taxation, and compliance.
- Experience liaising with auditors, tax authorities, and executive management.
