About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Manager to oversee the school’s finances, ensuring transparency, compliance, and effective resource allocation. This role is vital in supporting our mission to deliver quality education while maintaining strong financial stability and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will be professional, proactive, and capable of working in a dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor annual budgets
- Oversee payroll, accounts, and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and audit requirements
- Provide financial insights and reporting to leadership for strategic decision-making
- Manage school funds, grants, and donations
- Oversee cash flow management and financial planning
- Ensure accurate record keeping and financial controls
- Liaise with auditors, accountants, suppliers, and service providers
- Assist with policy implementation and financial best practices within the school
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred)
- Proven experience in financial management and accounting
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements in education/non-profit sectors
- Proficiency in accounting software (Pastel) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Added Advantage
- Previous experience working in a school or educational environment will be highly advantageous
- Experience within the education or non-profit sector will be beneficial
- Familiarity with school budgeting, fee structures, and education-related financial processes is an advantage
