Job description
We are looking for an experienced Financial Manager to lead the financial management of a manufacturing operation and support informed, sustainable business growth.
This is a senior role for a commercially minded finance professional who can move confidently between financial strategy and operational delivery. You will partner closely with the Board and operational leaders to strengthen financial performance, manage risk and turn financial data into practical business decisions.
The Financial Manager will be responsible for protecting and improving the organisation’s financial health. This includes financial planning, budgeting, cash-flow and working-capital management, compliance, management reporting and the development of long-term financial strategies aligned with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy & Planning - Develop long-term financial plans aligned with factory operations. Optimise capital allocation and investment strategies.
- Cost Management & Optimisation - Implement cost-control measures to improve margins. Analyse production costs, overheads, and raw material expenditures.
- Operational & Supply Chain Finance - Understand manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics. Manage working capital, inventory, and procurement costs effectively.
- Risk Management & Compliance - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Develop risk mitigation strategies for financial and operational risks.
- Budgeting & Forecasting - Create and manage factory budgets with accurate forecasting models. Adapt financial plans to demand fluctuations and market conditions.
- Data-Driven Decision Making & Analytics - Use financial data analytics and KPIs to drive efficiency. Implement ERP systems for real-time financial tracking.
- Cash Flow & Capital Management - Maintain strong cash flow for factory operations. Manage debt, financing, and capital investments efficiently.
- Leadership & Team Management - Lead and develop the finance team within a manufacturing setting. Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and production leaders.
- Digital & Technology Adaptation - Leverage automation, AI, and digital finance tools, Implement cost-effective technological innovations.
- Stakeholder Communication & Reporting - Communicate financial insights clearly to executives and board members. Build relationships with investors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Experience & Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
- A professional designation such as CA, ACCA, CPA or CFA, or an equivalent professional certification.
- Between 8 and 15 years of relevant financial experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing operations, production costs and supply-chain finance.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, compliance and financial reporting.
- Experience using ERP systems and financial data analysis.
Pay: R70 000,00 - R110 000,00 per month
