Job description
Master Fire Industries is seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automatic fire sprinkler systems across commercial, industrial, and residential facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, modify, and commission fire sprinkler systems in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of sprinkler systems.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on wet, dry, deluge, and pre-action sprinkler systems.
- Read and interpret sprinkler layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, and technical specifications.
- Install and replace sprinkler pipework, valves, pumps, hangers, fittings, and sprinkler heads.
- Perform pressure testing and ensure systems are fully operational before handover.
- Prepare service reports and accurately document work completed.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant South African fire protection standards and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and project teams.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience installing, servicing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems.
- Sound understanding of sprinkler system components and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and sprinkler layouts.
- Knowledge of SANS standards and general fire protection regulations.
- Experience using hand and power tools relevant to sprinkler installations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on site.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and comfortable working at heights and on construction sites.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team.
- Registered or experienced as a 1475 Fire Detection Technician.
- Valid South African driver's licence (preferred).
Pay: R8 000,00 - R11 000,00 per month
