Fitter (Lannex Plant)

Job Advert Summary

Sylvania Metals is looking for a fitter to support the Company’s Eastern Operations (based at Lannex Plant) concerning maintenance, improving plant availability, and controlling costs.The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all process equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• Possession of a minimum N3 certificate or Grade 12 qualification.
• Certified Trade Test Certificate in Fitting (Section 13 or 26D) is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Preferably a minimum of 2 years' experience in PGM flotation and chrome recovery plant operations.
• Proven experience in the maintenance of slurry pumps, grinding mills, and gearboxes.
• Valid Code 8 driver's license.
• Own reliable transport for commuting to work sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair on all process equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventative and planned maintenance activities efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to the company's Health and Safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
• Record and analyse equipment breakdown data to identify patterns and prevent future occurrences.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date equipment history and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to optimise equipment performance.
• Identify and report any potential safety hazards or operational issues promptly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
• Keep abreast of technical developments and implement best practices in maintenance procedures.
