Fixed Plant Operator

We are seeking a safety-conscious, reliable, and experienced Fixed Plant Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain fixed plant equipment in accordance with company procedures, safety standards, and production requirements. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient operation of plant equipment while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor fixed plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and routine operational checks.
• Identify and report equipment faults, defects, and safety hazards.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Monitor plant performance and make operational adjustments where required.
• Complete production, maintenance, and inspection records accurately.
• Assist maintenance personnel during planned and unplanned shutdowns.
• Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform any other duties related to the role as reasonably required.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience operating fixed plant equipment in a mining, industrial, manufacturing, or processing environment.
• Knowledge of conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, feeders, or similar plant equipment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and complete operational checklists and reports.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays when required.
• Medically fit to work in an industrial environment.
