Vacancy: Fleet Maintenance Controller

The Fleet Maintenance Controller is responsible for coordinating the maintenance, servicing, compliance, and record management of the company's fleet and mobile plant. The role ensures vehicles remain safe, roadworthy, legally compliant, and operational while minimising downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, inspections, licensing, and breakdown maintenance.
• Monitor preventative maintenance schedules and minimise vehicle downtime.
• Conduct daily fleet inspections and report defects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare weekly reports.
• Ensure all vehicle licences, PDPs, roadworthy certificates, and statutory documents remain valid.
• Liaise with drivers, workshops, service providers, and management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and transport legislation.
• Monitor maintenance costs and supplier performance.

Requirements

• 3–5 years' experience in fleet, transport, or logistics.
• Experience managing maintenance records for trucks, bakkies, passenger vehicles, and mobile plant.
• Mechanical knowledge will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transport legislation, and licensing requirements.
• Strong planning, administration, reporting, and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.
