Fleet Manager (Salary is market related)

1. Position Purpose

The Fleet Manager is responsible for the effective management, availability, safety, compliance, maintenance and cost control of the company's vehicle fleet.

The role is particularly critical within a security environment, where vehicles support armed response, guarding operations, mobile patrols, client-site deployments, control-room operations and emergency response.

The Fleet Manager must ensure that operational vehicles are safe, legally compliant, reliable, properly maintained and available when required.

The successful candidate will combine strong fleet-management expertise with sound financial, administrative, people-management and operational skills.

3. Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant qualification in Fleet Management, Logistics, Transport Management, Operations Management or a related field
• At least 3–5 years' relevant fleet-management experience, preferably within a security, logistics, transport or similarly operational environment
• Proven experience managing a fleet of multiple vehicles
• Experience with vehicle maintenance, fuel management and fleet administration
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel
• Valid South African driver's licence
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operational requirements.

Advantageous:

• Diploma or degree in Transport/Fleet/Logistics Management
• Experience within the private security industry
• Experience with GPS/telematics systems
• Experience managing security or armed-response vehicles
• Experience with fleet-management software
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements
• Experience with vehicle insurance claims and accident investigations
