Purpose of the Job The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the efficient and optimised operation of the Transpharm Department. This role focuses on maintaining vehicle availability, overseeing staff, managing administrative tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.

Job ObjectivesFleet Operations & Coordination
- Coordinate vehicle availability and route scheduling to meet delivery requirements
- Monitor adherence to service and maintenance schedules
- Control vehicle allocation, usage, and basic cost drivers
- Track delivery execution and resolve operational delays
Maintenance & Asset Management
- Monitor vehicle servicing in line with manufacturer standards
- Maintain fleet records (maintenance schedules, vehicle status, inventory)
- Identify and report maintenance risks or recurring issues
- Support basic fleet cost control through tracking of fuel, repairs, and usage
Compliance & Risk Monitoring
- Monitor vehicle roadworthiness and operational compliance
- Track and update traffic fines and related records
- Record and report incidents and accidents in line with procedures
- Ensure adherence to health and safety requirements (including equipment safety)
People Supervision & Industrial Relations
- Supervise daily activities of drivers and despatch staff
- Monitor attendance, conduct, and adherence to operational standards
- Support investigation of incidents and escalate where required
- Maintain a stable and compliant work environment
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor operational and staff performance against defined standards
- Compile routine reports (e.g., driver hours, delivery output, returns, fuel usage)
- Track key operational metrics and highlight variances
- Maintain accurate documentation to support audits and decision-making
Administration & Recordkeeping
- Maintain fleet-related administrative records (e.g., insurance, logs, registers)
- Monitor document accuracy and completeness across fleet operations
- Support coordination of fleet documentation and key control processes
- Ensure timely submission of required operational reports
Qualifications* Grade 12 (Matric) - (essential).
- Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Transport, or related field (preferred) or commensurate work experience - (essential).
Experience* 3-4+ years experience in fleet, transport, or delivery operations or similar role - (essential).
- Of which at least 2 years experience in a supervisory environment or similar - (essential).
- Basic understanding of fleet systems and vehicle operations - (essential).
- Computer literacy (Excel / Google Sheets) - (essential).
- Valid driver’s licence - (essential).
