FORECLOSURE SECRETARY - CAPE TOWN CBD
ONLY CANDIDATES BASED IN CAPE TOWN TO APPLY
Hannes Gouws & Partners Inc is seeking to appoint a highly experienced and detail-oriented Foreclosure Secretary with a stable work history for its Cape Town offices.
This is a full-time position ideally suited to a candidate with strong foreclosure and debt recovery litigation experience and the ability to independently manage a foreclosure matter from instruction through to sale in execution and transfer.
Minimum Requirements:
- Stable employment history;
- Proven experience as a Foreclosure Secretary attending primarily to residential mortgage foreclosures;
- Experience to include:
o Ability to independently manage files from instruction through to judgment, sale in execution and transfer;
o Working independently on Bank prescribed programs;
o Drafting summonses, particulars of claim, applications for default and summary judgment;
o Preparing and issuing warrants of execution and writs of attachment;
o Liaising with the Sheriff regarding attachments and sales in execution;
o Preparing rule 46/46A applications and related court documentation;
o Liaising with banks, clients, correspondent attorneys, sheriffs and the courts;
o Attending to post-sale transfer processes and liaison with conveyancing colleagues;
o Experience working on:
▪ Bank prescribed programs;
▪ CourtOnline;
▪ Microsoft Office;
Added Advantage:
Experience in general debt collection and default judgment work, exposure to the National Credit Act as it relates to foreclosure proceedings.

- Ability to manage high volumes and meet court deadlines;
- Professional communication skills;
- Strong understanding of foreclosure, debt recovery and civil litigation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Managing foreclosure files from instruction to judgment and sale in execution;
- Drafting and preparation of litigation and execution documentation;
- Liaising with clients, banks, sheriffs, correspondent attorneys and the courts;
- Coordinating warrants, writs and sale in execution arrangements;
- Monitoring progress of matters and ensuring adherence to court deadlines;
- Handling post-sale administrative and transfer-related processes;
- General administrative duties.
Salary: Market related commensurate with experience.
Location: Cape Town CBD
Position type: Full-Time
