EE Position

Introduction:

Komatsu has an opportunity for a driven and ambitious Foreman with exceptional technical skills to join our team at Reman branch, Kathu. The successful candidate will have a relevant trade (HEM preferred), extensive experience in a workshop environment in surface mining and 2 or more years supervisory experience in a unionised environment as well as 4 or more years relevant experience.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or N3
• Trade Certificate Heavy Earth Moving Mechanic/ Diesel Mechanic
• Knowledge of and experience in planning, scheduling, and managing projects essential.
• Valid driver's license a pre-requisite

Knowledge requirements:

• Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Fundamentals of Labour relations Act.
• Basic knowledge of SEIFSA agreements.
• Computer literacy: Excel Basic; SAP basic.

Job Responsibilities:

• Determines detailed priorities with regards to planned work.
• Reports on section/project progress.
• Provides input into the planning of the human capital requirements of the team/section.
• Supervises the team.
• Evaluates team members' achievement of results against agreed priorities within the performance management framework.
• Provides input into planning the section's budget.
• Submits staff S&T and overtime / expense claims for approval.
• Communicates changes to policies & procedures to subordinate staff.
• Plans the roll-out of contractual /service level agreements (SLA’s) implementation.
• Resolves issues /problems/conflict in a positive, win-win manner.
• Remains up-to-date with Safety procedures.
• Plans for inspection of equipment (new and used in stock), with regards to dates, workshops, nomination of service, stock, and other resources.
• Schedules, forecasts and plans Repairs and Maintenance in the maintenance planning system.
• Machine inspections.
• Parts and inventory management.
