Job description
A specialist forensic accounting practice based in Centurion is seeking a dynamic Forensic Accountant or Senior Forensic Accountant to join its professional team. The role is suited to a finance-focused candidate with strong accounting fundamentals, investigative aptitude, and an interest in complex financial disputes, fraud investigations, litigation support, arbitration matters, expert reports, valuations, loss of income and damages quantification, and related forensic accounting engagements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· BCom degree in Accounting Sciences, Financial Sciences, Forensic Accounting, External Auditing, Internal Auditing, or a related field.
· Strong theoretical and practical accounting and financial background, with the ability to interpret financial information and identify irregularities.
· Completed a recognised traineeship or professional training route, including SAICA, SAIPA, AGA(SA), AT(SA), CIMA or IIA(SA).
· Resident of South Africa with a clear criminal record.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to work accurately with large volumes of financial and supporting documentation.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
· Honours or postgraduate qualification in accounting, financial science, forensic accounting, audit, or a related field.
· ACFE, ICFP, CFE or related forensic professional membership, or actively working towards such membership.
· Proven exposure to forensic investigations, fraud risk matters, litigation support, arbitration support, expert witness processes, valuations, loss of income or damages quantification.
· Valid South African driver’s licence.
· Strong report-writing, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist with forensic accounting investigations, including financial statement reviews, bank statement analysis, transaction testing, reconciliations, fund-flow analysis and source-document verification.
· Prepare clear working papers and contribute to factual findings reports, expert reports, schedules, claim calculations and litigation-support memoranda.
· Support matters involving fraud, asset misappropriation, financial misconduct, income verification, loss of income, damages quantification, valuations, due diligence and dispute analysis.
· Work with senior team members, attorneys, liquidators, clients and other stakeholders while maintaining independence, confidentiality and professional judgement.
