Job Advert Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, stack, and store materials and products within the warehouse or designated work areas.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid forklift operator certification/licence applicable to the workplace.
  • Previous forklift operating experience, preferably in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations and material handling.
  • Ability to read and understand safety instructions and workplace procedures.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling duties.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures.
  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and delivery vehicles.
  • Move materials, stock, pallets, and products to designated storage or production areas.
  • Stack and store goods securely while maximising available warehouse space.
  • Inspect the forklift and equipment before each shift and report defects or maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and within the forklift's rated capacity.
  • Follow warehouse traffic rules, safety procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with stock movement, picking, packing, and general warehouse duties when required.
  • Verify quantities and product information when moving or receiving stock.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements and equipment checks where required.
  • Report damaged goods, unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Keep work areas clean, organised, and free from hazards.
  • Comply with company policies, occupational health and safety requirements, and applicable legislation.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
