We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and qualified Foundation Phase Teacher to join our dynamic educator team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Foundation Phase Teacher, you will be responsible for laying the critical academic, social, and emotional foundations for our learners. Your day-to-day will include:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in alignment with the [CAPS / IEB / Cambridge] curriculum.
- Foundational Skills: Focus strongly on developing core literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
- Assessment & Tracking: Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and behavior of learners, providing constructive feedback.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, orderly, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and mutual respect.
- Differentiated Learning: Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of young children.
- Collaboration: Work closely with grade-level colleagues, remedial therapists, and school leadership to support learner well-being.
- Parent Communication: Maintain open, professional communication with parents regarding their child’s progress and developmental milestones.
- Extramural Activities: Participate in and support the school’s co-curricular and extramural programs.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- Education: A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Foundation Phase Teaching, or a relevant degree paired with a PGCE in Foundation Phase.
- Professional Registration: Valid registration with [SACE / relevant local teaching council].
- Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (ability to teach a second language like Afrikaans is a strong advantage.
- Clearances: Police Clearance Certificate and a clean Sexual Offenders Register check (mandatory).
