Finding Light Photography is expanding to Cape Town!

We’re looking for an experienced, warm and reliable Cape Town-based photographer to join the Finding Light Photography team and photograph sessions and events under our brand.

This is a freelance, per-shoot position, ideal for an established photographer looking for additional regular work without having to handle the marketing, bookings and client acquisition themselves.

We’re looking for someone who:

Has at least 5 years' professional photography experience

Has strong experience photographing families and children

Is confident photographing birthday parties, baptisms, baby showers and family events

Has a natural, candid and relaxed photography styleIfriendly, patient and fantastic with children

Is comfortable taking direction and photographing according to the Finding Light Photography style

Shoots on a full-frame mirrorless Nikon camera and have a good Internet line

Has professional lenses and backup equipmentIs reliable, professional and comfortable communicating with clients

Is based in Cape Town and able to travel to shoots around the city

Is available** in November every year for our Christmas Mini test shoot, setup, sessions over several day**

Knowledge of Adobe editing software, although editing will 99% completed by the jhb team

How it will work

Finding Light Photography will handle the marketing, enquiries, bookings and editing. You will be booked to photograph selected Cape Town sessions and will be paid post shoot.

There is no requirement to bring your own clients.

The successful photographer will initially be asked to complete a test family shoot & event so that we can make sure our styles and approach are a good fit.

We’re looking for someone interested in building a long-term working relationship as Finding Light Photography grows in Cape Town.
