Job description
Star Centre is a busy auto body repair centre in George, known for quality workmanship and great customer care. We’re looking for a confident, organised receptionist to be the first point of contact for our customers, insurers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and handle walk-ins, calls, emails and WhatsApp enquiries professionally
- Book in vehicles and schedule quotes, assessments and collections
- Capture job cards and keep customer and vehicle records accurate
- Liaise with insurance companies and assessors on quotes, authorisations and claims
- Update customers on repair progress and arrange handovers
- Support management and the workshop team with admin, filing and follow-ups
- Handle queries and upset customers calmly and professionally
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Previous reception or admin experience, ideally in the motor, auto body or insurance industry
- Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans (isiXhosa is an advantage)
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new systems
- Excellent organisation and the ability to multitask
- Able to stay calm, positive and efficient in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Neat, professional appearance and a friendly, customer-focused attitude
- Reliable, honest and a team player
- Own transport is preferred
