Front-of-House / Restaurant Manager

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Front-of-House/Restaurant Manager to lead the floor and take overall responsibility for day-to-day restaurant operations. This role carries real ownership — setting service standards, managing the team, and making sure every guest, from a school group to a wedding party, has a great experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall day-to-day management of the restaurant, including front-of-house and administrative oversight
• Lead, train, and manage the front-of-house team
• Set and maintain service standards across walk-in dining, functions, weddings, and large groups
• Manage bookings, floor planning, and the overall guest experience
• Oversee point-of-sale operations, billing accuracy, and daily reconciliation
• Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and promptly
• Coordinate closely with the Head Chef on service timing and event execution
• Support stock control and ordering processes relevant to front-of-house and bar

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in restaurant/hospitality operations, including at least 2 years in a management role
• Experience managing teams in a high-volume or function/event-driven environment
• Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and guest-service skills
• Experience with POS systems and bookings/reservations platforms (e.g. Dineplan)
• Able to work weekends (minimum one weekend day per week), public holidays, and function/wedding days
• Own transport advantageous, given the venue's location within a botanical garden
