Fuel Station Site Supervisor

Job Purpose

We are seeking a reliable and experienced

Site Supervisor capable of managing the daily operations of a fuel filling station independently. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, strict regulatory compliance, effective staff supervision, tight stock control, and high standards of customer service.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

• Daily Oversight: Oversee daily site operations across the forecourt, convenience store, and food service areas.
• Shift Controls: Ensure effective shift handovers, precise cash-up procedures, and accurate system closures.
• Stock Management: Manage fuel, wet-stock, and dry-stock levels, and coordinate regular stock-takes.
• Loss Control: Actively monitor and reduce stock losses, variances, and cashier shortages.
• Site Maintenance: Coordinate housekeeping, repairs, and routine maintenance to maintain an impeccable site appearance.
• Standards Compliance: Ensure full compliance with food safety, fuel quality, and brand operational standards.

Staff Supervision & People Management

• Team Leadership: Supervise petrol attendants, cashiers, and food service staff.
• Scheduling: Manage staff attendance, rosters, leave, and daily task allocations.
• Development: Train, coach, and support staff to achieve daily and monthly operational targets.
• HR Support: Assist with disciplinary processes, performance management, and conflict resolution.
• Culture: Promote teamwork, accountability, and staff motivation on the floor.

Customer Service & Brand Standards

• Resolution: Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and timeously.
• Service Levels: Maintain high customer service levels aligned with fuel brand standards.
• Compliance: Ensure site presentation, branding, and promotional compliance are always up to standard.
• Sales Growth: Support initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and drive sales.

Financial & Stock Controls

• Reconciliations: Support daily cash controls, banking checks, and financial reconciliations.
• Profit Optimisation: Optimise convenience store gross profit by monitoring product mix, pricing, promotions, and high-margin sales opportunities.
• Shrinkage Control: Control convenience store stock levels, slow-moving items, expiries, wastage, and shrinkage to protect margins.
• Supplier Management: Review supplier pricing, stock ordering, and merchandising practices to improve sales performance.
• Reporting: Assist with internal audits, ensure controls are followed, and report daily operational metrics to the [Owner / Store Manager / Operations Manager].

Compliance, Safety & Controls

• HSEQ: Enforce strict Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines, security measures, and legislative requirements.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and safety checklists.
• Safe Practices: Promote safe working practices, fuel handling procedures, and adherence to emergency protocols.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
• Training: Relevant retail, hospitality, operations, or management training certificates.
• Experience: Proven supervisory experience in a fuel filling station, convenience retail, or a similar fast-paced operational environment.
• Tech Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) and back-office systems (e.g., WinNuvo, Symphonix, GAAP, Namos etc.).
• Logistics: Must have reliable transport to handle early/late shifts and emergency call-outs.
• Flexibility: Absolute willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and be on standby.

Key Competencies

• Proven ability to manage a busy retail site independently.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Good numerical ability with a sharp attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with wet/dry stock control and cash handling.

Pay: R9 500,00 - R12 500,00 per month
