Fuel Station Site Supervisor

Job Purpose

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Site Supervisor capable of managing the daily operations of a fuel filling station independently. The successful candidate will take responsibility for site operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, compliance, staff supervision, stock control, and high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Oversee daily site operations across the forecourt, convenience store, and food service areas
• Ensure effective shift handovers, cash-up procedures, and system closures
• Manage fuel, wet-stock, and dry-stock levels and coordinate stock takes
• Monitor and reduce stock losses, variances, and cashier shortages
• Coordinate housekeeping, repairs, and routine maintenance
• Ensure compliance with food safety, fuel quality, and operational standards

Staff Supervision & People Management

• Supervise petrol attendants, cashiers, and food service staff
• Manage attendance, rosters, leave, and daily task allocation
• Train, coach, and support staff to achieve operational targets
• Assist with disciplinary processes and performance management
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and staff motivation

Customer Service & Brand Standards

• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally
• Maintain high customer service levels aligned with brand standards
• Ensure site presentation, branding, and promotional compliance
• Support initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and sales

Compliance, Safety & Controls

• Enforce HSEQ, security, and legislative requirements
• Maintain accurate operational records and checklists
• Promote safe working practices and adherence to procedures

Financial & Stock Controls

• Support daily cash controls, banking checks, and reconciliations
• Optimise convenience store gross profit by monitoring product mix, pricing, promotions, and high-margin sales opportunities
• Control convenience store stock levels, slow-moving items, expiries, wastage, and shrinkage to protect margins
• Review supplier pricing, stock ordering, and merchandising practices to improve sales performance and gross profit
• Assist with audits and ensure internal controls are followed
• Monitor sales performance, margins, and operational costs

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Relevant retail, operations, or management training
• Proven experience in a fuel filling station, retail, or similar operational environment
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with operational systems
• Must have reliable transport or be willing to relocate
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and be on standby

• Proven ability to manage a site independently
• Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Good numerical ability and attention to detail
• Experience with stock control, cash handling, and staff supervision
