Job description

MyHealthcare Group is a private integrated healthcare provider operating clinics across the United Kingdom, supported by an operations, compliance and finance hub in Durban. The group is entering a period of sustained growth, and the digital estate that supports it is being updated to support this.

This role owns that rebuild, and then owns the platform that comes out of it. It is both a build role and a custodianship role. The successful candidate will design, build and operate the group's public web platform, and will be the single technical authority on it.

This is a standalone position. There is no development team, no technical lead above the role.

Key responsibilities

Platform build and ownership

· Design, build and deploy the group's public web platform using Next.js (App Router) and React.

· Make and defend rendering decisions across SSR, ISR and static generation, with server-rendered content as the default position.

· Implement and model a headless CMS so that non-technical staff can publish content without a developer in the loop.

· Own the deployment pipeline, environments, preview builds and release process end to end.

· Migrate existing content and search equity from the legacy estate without loss of ranking or referral traffic.

Discoverability and performance

· Ensure complete page content is returned to crawlers that do not execute JavaScript, including AI and answer-engine crawlers.

· Own Core Web Vitals, structured data, sitemaps, canonicalisation and technical SEO health.

· Instrument analytics and performance monitoring, and report on both.

Integration and data

· Build and maintain integrations with third-party services, including forms, booking flows and CRM.

· Work within a no-personally-identifiable-information web architecture, keeping patient data out of the public platform by design.

· Comply with POPIA and with UK data protection requirements governing cross-border access to United Kingdom personal data.

Governance and continuity

· Document the architecture, repository, environments and runbooks from the first commit, not at the end of the build.

· Maintain code in a group-owned repository at all times, with no code held in personal accounts.

· Support the group's ability to bring in specialist assistance without a handover project.

Essential requirements

· Five or more years building production web applications, with at least two of those in React.

· Demonstrable production experience with Next.js App Router, including server components and rendering strategy.

· Production experience with a headless CMS, and the ability to model content rather than merely consume it.

· Strong command of TypeScript, modern CSS and component architecture.

· Working knowledge of API design, serverless functions and third-party integration.

· Demonstrable understanding of technical SEO and crawler behaviour.

· A public repository, portfolio or code sample.

Desirable

· Experience in a regulated sector — healthcare, financial services or legal.

· Exposure to CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce.

· Experience as the sole technical owner of a platform.

What this role is not

This is not a WordPress or page-builder role. It is not a graphic design role, and no visual identity work forms part of it. It is not a role in which requirements arrive fully specified; the successful candidate will be expected to interrogate a brief, price it in time, and say so plainly when something is a poor idea.

Package and benefits

· This is an employment position, not a contract-for-services engagement.

· From R360,000 per annum, depending on demonstrable seniority.

· Office-based in Westville, Durban, in a purpose-built operations hub.

Selection process

· Application review and shortlisting within ten working days of application.

· Introductory conversation with the Dental & Operations Director — 30 minutes, remote.

· Paid technical exercise — four hours, compensated, completed in the candidate's own environment.

· Final Technical discussion of the exercise.

Pay: From R360 000,00 per year

Work Location: In person
