FULL-TIME EXECUTIVE DRIVER / CLOSE PROTECTION OFFICER
Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
A private individual is seeking a highly professional, discreet and experienced Executive Driver / Close Protection Officer for a full-time position based in Durban.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and professional transportation of the principal and family members, while also providing an added layer of personal security, situational awareness and close-protection support where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Professional driving of the principal and family members
* School runs, appointments, meetings, airport transfers and general transportation
* Safe operation and care of high-value and luxury vehicles
* Route planning and awareness of security risks
* Maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times
* Monitoring surroundings and identifying potential security concerns
* Providing close-protection support when required
* Assisting with errands and transport-related requirements
* Ensuring vehicles are kept clean, fuelled and ready for use
* Coordinating servicing, tyres, licences and vehicle-related matters where necessary
* Availability for occasional evening, weekend and travel requirements
Minimum Requirements
* Valid South African driver’s licence
* Excellent driving record
* Proven experience as a professional, executive or VIP driver
* Close Protection Officer training or recognised security background
* PSIRA registration preferred
* Firearm competency advantageous
* Advanced or defensive driving training highly advantageous
* Previous executive protection, VIP protection, military or law-enforcement experience advantageous
* Strong knowledge of Durban and surrounding areas
* Professional appearance and communication skills
* Reliable, punctual and highly discreet
* Comfortable driving high-performance and luxury vehicles
* Contactable references
* Clear criminal record
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone mature, calm and dependable who understands that this role requires more than simply driving.
The ideal candidate should be security-conscious without being intrusive, able to remain composed under pressure, and capable of maintaining a very high degree of confidentiality and professionalism around the family.
Remuneration
Competitive salary based on experience, qualifications and level of close-protection capability.
Indicative package: R15000+ per month, with higher remuneration considered for exceptional candidates with substantial close-protection, executive-driving and security experience.
