About the role As a Functional Analyst III, you will play a critical role in ensuring that business requirements are translated into effective, scalable, and cost-efficient technology solutions. Working within a cross-functional delivery team, you will act as the functional expert for Blue Yonder Cognitive Merchandise Financial Planning (CMFP) / Enterprise Planning solutions, partnering closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, Architects, and business stakeholders. This role combines business process analysis, solution design, system configuration, testing oversight, stakeholder engagement, and technical leadership. You will lead complex initiatives, mentor junior analysts, and ensure solutions are aligned to business objectives while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What you'll do Analyse complex business requirements and translate them into functional specifications and fit-for-purpose solution designs. Lead and perform gap analyses to identify business needs, system improvements, and optimisation opportunities. Configure and customise Blue Yonder CMFP / Enterprise Planning solutions to meet business requirements. Lead development and configuration initiatives within delivery teams. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Functional Analysts I & II. Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, Architects, and key stakeholders to deliver business-critical solutions. Facilitate solution design workshops and obtain stakeholder alignment and sign-off on proposed solutions. Coordinate and support systems integration activities, data conversion requirements, and reporting solutions. Estimate effort, prioritise workloads, manage dependencies, and support project planning activities. Lead and oversee testing activities, including test planning, script preparation, execution, defect management, and quality assurance. Support and manage post-implementation activities, including go-live support and issue resolution. Troubleshoot system issues and drive the effective management and resolution of incidents and defects. Monitor system performance and business processes following implementation, recommending improvements where necessary. Drive delivery in alignment with Agile practices and participate in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Build strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders by providing expert guidance and trusted support.
What you bring Qualifications & Experience 3-year IT qualification. Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or similar qualification. MS SQL Fundamentals certification. 6+ years' experience as a Senior Functional Analyst or in a similar role. Proven experience in functional analysis, configuration, solution design, and user acceptance testing. Software testing experience. IT support and operations knowledge. Experience within Retail and/or Financial Services environments. Vendor management experience. Working knowledge of project management principles. Technical Skills Strong experience with Blue Yonder Cognitive Merchandise Financial Planning (CMFP) / Enterprise Planning (essential). Experience with additional Blue Yonder solutions such as: Demand Fulfillment Luminate Strong understanding of system integration, configuration, and business process optimisation. Working knowledge of operating systems and internet technologies. Knowledge of SQL and data analysis. Experience working across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Exposure to cloud technologies and cloud-based solutions. Knowledge of incident management processes and tools. Foundational understanding of programming concepts and technologies. Leadership & Behavioural Competencies Strong technical leadership and mentoring capability. Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to influence and drive outcomes across cross-functional teams. Results-driven with excellent planning and organisational skills. Strong business acumen and understanding of technology's commercial impact. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Collaborative team player with a growth mindset.
