Job Advert Summary

Suitable candidates are invited to apply for the role of Functional and Technical trainer. The purpose of which is to deliver Skills Plans and strategic business training initiatives that build functional and technical competence, strengthen operational execution and support improved customer outcomes.

Partner with Regional and Store Leadership to address capability gaps through meaningful learning experiences, using effective facilitation, coaching, assessment, workplace learning and digitally enabled learning solutions to build confident and competent people.

Minimum Requirements

• Teaching (tertiary level) or equivalent qualification preferred
• Store Manager/Group Head experience within a store environment(advantageous)
• Strong Store Operations experience, with sound knowledge and practical application of operational processes, controls, compliance requirements and risk management
• Demonstrated experience in coaching, facilitation, training or people development
• SETA Assessor and / or Moderator accreditation advantageous
• Sound digital literacy and confidence in using business and learning technologies
• Valid Driver’s licence (code 8)
• Flexibility and willingness to travel as required
• Strong planning, organizing and implementation skills

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver skills plan and strategic business initiatives using engaging, practical and experiential learning approaches aligned to Internal strategic approach to training, ensuring learners feel connected, inspired and cared for.
• Support new and refurbished stores, operational projects, systems and business initiatives by delivering the required capability interventions to ensure teams are operationally ready. Coach and assess learners, provide meaningful feedback and support the learning journey from preparation through to workplace application and competence.
• Partner with Regional Managers, Store Managers, HR, L&D and other key stakeholders to understand and respond to identified regional and store capability needs.
• Use learner feedback, attendance, assessment results and operational insights to understand capability gaps, measure learning effectiveness and inform appropriate training, coaching and follow-up interventions.
• Provide constructive feedback on learning content, methodologies and assessments, and share insights, lessons learnt and successful practices to support continuous improvement across F&T.
