The successful candidate will be responsible for planning menus, preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring seamless execution of all catered events. The role requires strong culinary expertise, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Functions Chef will work closely with operations teams and clients to deliver outstanding service, exceed customer expectations, and uphold TsAfrika's reputation for excellence in catering and hospitality services.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare menus for functions and special events in line with client requirements and company standards.
• Produce high-quality food presentation and ensure consistency across all events.
• Manage all food preparation and production activities for functions and events.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health and safety compliance in accordance with company policies and legislation.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, receiving, and storage of food products.
• Minimise wastage and manage food costs effectively.
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure successful event execution.
• Support and guide kitchen staff during function preparation and service.
• Build positive relationships with clients and respond professionally to requests and feedback.

Qualifications

• Relevant Culinary Qualification or Professional Cookery Diploma.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within hospitality, catering, or events.
• Experience catering for functions, banqueting, conferences, and special events.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and kitchen best practices.
• Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
