Role Description The Furniture Store Sales Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based at the Eco Furniture Design store in Tygervalley, Cape Town. The sales assistant will welcome customers, provide product information, and guide them through furniture options that match their needs, style, and budget. Daily responsibilities include assisting with sales inquiries, processing transactions, maintaining a tidy and visually appealing showroom, and ensuring stock is well organized and correctly displayed. The role also involves handling basic customer service queries, supporting online and phone inquiries when required, and assisting in updating product knowledge and sales materials. The sales assistant will collaborate with the store team to meet sales targets, uphold brand standards, and contribute to a friendly and professional in-store experience.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with diverse customers and team members.
- Candidates should possess solid Customer Service abilities, including responsiveness, problem-solving, and a customer-focused mindset.
- Candidates should possess proven Retail Sales experience or aptitude, with an interest in furniture or home décor and comfort working with point-of-sale systems.
- Candidates should possess Organization Skills to manage stock, maintain store presentation, and handle multiple customer requests efficiently.
- Candidates should possess Training capabilities, or a willingness to learn and share product and process knowledge with colleagues.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience in a retail or showroom environment, knowledge of furniture or interior design trends, reliability in working scheduled shifts, and a matric/high school diploma or equivalent.
