Gardener Intern(WIL STUDENT)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The gardener Intern shall be responsible to maintain the immediate environment and ensure that good housekeeping is practiced on the outer perimeter on all sites in the factory

MAJOR ACTIVITIES / PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Gardening

· Effective planning, organizing, handling of tasks and attention to detail.

· Maintain the appearance of the landscape at all sites including:

· Cutting of plants

· Pruning of plants

· Maintaining a clean perimeter

· Plant trees, shrubs and hedges and ensure healthy growth through watering and upkeep.

· Cleaning of the canteens

· Report and control any pest infestation that could impact the landscape.

· Ensure that safety is adhered to at all times.

· Maintain equipment to avoid loss or misuse.

· Ad-hoc tasks or projects that improve the landscape

Communication

· Effective communication to report back on tasks.

Teamwork

· Prioritize teamwork with colleagues and be able to work in a team.

Safety and Time Management

.Work safely at all times.

. Complete tasks timeously.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Have sound knowledge of gardening techniques, plant maintenance.

2. Manufacturing Processes and Procedures

3. Basic Health & Safety Regulatory Requirements

4. Basic Environmental Management Requirements

5. Sound Knowledge of Statistical Process Control

6. Must be literate and able to speak, read and write English.

No experience required

Diploma in Horticulture/Landscaping

Matric (Grade 12)
