General Labourer

ABOUT US:

Urban Design Projects is a premier renovation and construction company. We are expanding our operations with a dedicated property maintenance division and are looking for hard-working, reliable General Labourers to join our team.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a General Labourer, you will work directly alongside and take instruction from our site Foreman. You will assist with a wide variety of hands-on maintenance, repair, and construction tasks at residential and commercial properties. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, arrives on time every day, and is eager to learn.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting the site Foreman on-site with tasks such as painting, tiling, plastering, minor carpentry, and general repairs.
• Loading and unloading tools, equipment, and building materials from the company vehicle.
• Mixing cement, mortar, grout, or paint as required for the job.
• Preparing work surfaces (e.g., sanding down walls, cleaning surfaces for waterproofing, clearing debris).
• Keeping the worksite clean, tidy, and safe throughout the day, and doing a thorough cleanup after the job is completed.
• Properly cleaning, maintaining, and packing away tools and equipment at the end of each day.
• Following all safety guidelines to protect yourself, the team, and the client’s property.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience working as a labourer in construction, renovations, painting, or property maintenance.
• Strong physical health, stamina, and the ability to lift heavy materials and work on your feet all day.
• A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take direction and learn new skills.
• Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy with sober habits (zero-tolerance policy for substance abuse on site).
• Basic communication skills in English (ability to understand and follow instructions clearly).
• A valid South African ID or valid work permit (essential).

Pay: R6 500,00 per month
