General Maintenance Worker

We require the services of an experienced, hands-on General Maintenance Worker, who will form part of a facilities maintenance team responsible for building and garden maintenance. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that buildings, facilities and grounds are well maintained and kept in a safe, clean and tidy condition.

ENTRY-LEVEL QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• A Grade 10 TO 12.
• Able bodied & physically fit
• All-rounder handyman
• Able to operate portable power and hand tools
• General handyman & building maintenance knowledge
• Minor mechanical knowledge
• Minor electrical knowledge
• Minor plumbing knowledge
• Basic Gardening knowledge
• 2 to 5 years of building maintenance/handyman experience

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Perform quality workmanship.
• Excellent housekeeping management.
• General building repairs & maintenance.
• Inventory & Stock control of all equipment, power tools & building materials.
• Health & Safety conscious.
• Gardening, mowing lawns & trimming trees.
• Perform other duties, as and when so requested, in support of team goals.

• Team player, with good interpersonal skills.
• Literacy, read, write and interpret documents
• Communicate effectively
