General Manager Resort Hotel - Garden Route

An upscale resort-style hotel in the Garden Route Region is seeking a dynamic Resort General Manager to oversee and elevate this busy property.

This executive position provides on-site accommodation for the successful candidate.

Job Scope

1. Resort Operations Management
Oversee all resort operations, including rooms division, premium food and beverage outlets, conference facilities, spa and recreation amenities, housekeeping, maintenance, and security, ensuring efficient and seamless service delivery.

2. Financial Management
Develop and manage the resort’s budget, forecasting revenue and expenses, analyzing financial performance, and implementing cost-saving measures to optimize profitability and achieve financial targets.

3. Sales and Marketing
Constantly liaise with the Head Office Sales & Marketing Departments to lead sales and marketing initiatives that drive revenue growth and market share. This includes developing tailored sales strategies, targeting key leisure and corporate market segments, and cultivating strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and other stakeholders.

4. Guest Relations & Experience
Cultivate positive relationships with guests, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and proactively seeking opportunities to enhance their resort stay and overall satisfaction.

5. Staff Training and Development
Recruit, train, and supervise resort staff, providing ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure luxury service standards and a positive work culture.

6. Quality Control
Maintain exceptionally high standards of product and service quality, conducting regular property inspections and implementing procedures to ensure consistency and excellence throughout the resort.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 5–6 years of Hotel or Resort General Manager experience within a large hospitality environment
• Previous Rooms Division Management experience preferred
• Hospitality Management Diploma
• Matric Grade 12
• Own vehicle and a valid driver's license
• Excellent costing and reporting skills

Pay: R60 000,00 - R65 000,00 per month
