General worker

We looking to employ an efficient and hard-working General Worker. This candidate should be multi-skilled and be able to pick, pack, process all incoming and outgoing stock according to warehouse guidelines. The General Worker is to report on any stock damaged, pick orders as per the pick tickets provided, receive and pack stock, make use of warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. This candidate should be detail-oriented, proactive, able to stand for extended periods and adapt to working efficiently in a warehouse.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Strong understanding of warehouse processes and stock

· Strong reconciliation skills and the ability to work with stock and warehouse documents

· Thoroughly inspecting stock for any damages and discrepancies

· Responsible for written reporting

· Sorting stock according to appropriate location for storage

· Picking stock as per order received for customers

· Signing for shipments upon receipt and verifying that the correct stock has been received and dispatched

· Using forklifts, high/low level order pickers and reach trucks to unload, move, stack, store and or pick stock accordingly

· Ensure proper recording of tasks and aid with department audits

· Work with various departments

· Managing on time and in full KPI

· Always adhere to the relevant health and safety rules and regulations

· Adhering to policies and procedures

· Following and understanding operating procedures

· Pro-active to learn and support within the Warehouse

· Carry out counting of inventory as and when required

· Handle any hazardous materials appropriately and safely

· Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operation efficiency

· General Ad-hoc duties

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· 3-5 Years of experience in a Warehouse within Industry (PPE- Workwear)

· 2-4 Years of direct general worker experience within a Warehouse

· Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)

· Recognition of prior learning (RPL and experience within Industry- Warehouse)

· Understand safety legislation/committee affiliation - SABS & SAIOSH

· Basic to Intermediate in MS Office 365

· Excellent communication (verbal and written) in English and interpersonal skills

· Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail

· Strong administrative skills – reading and writing English

· Ability to communicate effectively and is responsible

· Innovative approach and customer-focused

· Excellent people and organising skills to build relations with co-workers

· Excellent problem and customer service skills

· Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations

· Accountable, Pro-active, Resourceful and Reliable
