General Worker

Job Summary

Henchem Environmental Services are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious General Worker to join their Spray Department. This role involves working with chemicals in public, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and supporting the team with general labour duties. The successful candidate must be physically fit, able to follow instructions carefully, and committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations in the Spray Department.
• Handle and work with chemicals safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Wear and maintain the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Clean and maintain work areas, equipment, and tools.
• Load, unload, move, and transport materials as required.
• Perform general manual labour, including lifting and carrying materials.
• Operate equipment safely when required and authorised.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Assist with stock control and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Assist with offloading of materials when required.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by your supervisor or management.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Previous experience as a General Worker or in a similar role will be advantageous.
• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour.
• Comfortable working in an environment where chemicals are used.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Well-presented and punctual.
