General Worker: Van Assistant

Job Purpose To ensure the correct number of products and pallets are loaded and off loaded from the vehicle onto or from a client as per planned delivery route.

Key Responsibilities The core functions define the key areas of responsibility for this role, reflecting the accountabilities and expected outputs outlined in the competency-based profile. These are the primary activities through which the role delivers value to the business.

• Check company products as per loading sheet and sign
• Adhering to standard departure times
• Take responsibility for vehicle safety and hygiene
• Collection of pallets
• Offloading of product at customers
• Report all accidents immediately to the transport department and Warehouse Manager

Experience And Qualifications To perform effectively in this role, the following minimum qualifications and work experience are required:

• Matric
• 2–3 years' experience in sales delivery
• Code 10 license is desirable

Skills and Competencies

• Good people management skills
• Relationship building skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Self-motivated and responsible

Working Conditions

• Availability for excessive working hours, including weekends and shifts, as required by the role
• Required to work a 6-day week which will include public holidays and Sundays
• Ability to work in environments exposed to noise and warm temperatures.
• Ability to work in a pressurized environment
• Own transportation to commute to work locations or travel as necessary
